AI Shopping Readiness: A Product Data Checklist

Prepare accurate product titles, schema, feed data and purchase details for users and AI-powered shopping discovery.

How to investigate the issue

AI-powered shopping experiences rely on reliable product understanding rather than magic ranking tags. A usable product page has a specific product name, meaningful description, clear photos, identifiable variants, valid current price, stock status, stable URL and merchant policies. Product JSON-LD can make structured facts more explicit, while a well-maintained Merchant feed provides additional data where the merchant is eligible and connected. Search systems have different crawlers and retrieval behavior, and there is no way to guarantee that a product will be recommended by an AI assistant. Check that customer-visible page content, structured data and feeds agree. Avoid autogenerated keyword stuffing and fake review/rating markup. Start with ten readiness questions, then fix factual omissions rather than optimizing for an unsupported proprietary AI score. Verify that public pages are accessible to intended crawlers and that the information remains current after catalog updates.
